Where is the V5 serial number?

The V5 document (also known as the V5C document) contains all of the essential information about a vehicle, including the Vehicle Identification Number and the V5 Serial Number. The V5 Serial Number is located on the document as below, and is usually comprised of one or two letters (or sometimes no letters) followed by seven numbers - A 1234567 or AB 1234567 for example.

The V5 Serial Number is different from the Document Reference Number, which is usually just a number (no letters) that is 11 or 12 digits long - 1234 567 8912 or 91234 567 8912 for example.
